1. Wayesephendula uJobe, wathi:

2. “Usizile kanjani ongenamandla! Usindisile kanjani ingalo engenamandla?

3. Umlulekile kanjani ongenakuhlakanipha! Umemezile kangakanani ukuqonda!

4. Utshelwe ngubani lawo mazwi, nomoya kabani waphuma kuwe, na?

5. “Izithunzi ziyathuthumela phansi kwamanzi kanye nabakhelwane bawo.

6. Indawo yabafileyo ize phambi kwakhe, nendawo yokubhubha ayinasisibekelo.

7. Welula inyakatho phezu kwendawo engenalutho; uphanyeka umhlaba phezu kweze.

8. Ubopha amanzi emafwini akhe; ifu alidabuki phansi kwawo.

9. Uyasibekela ubuso besihlalo sakhe sobukhosi; uyeneka ifu lakhe phezu kwaso.

10. Uyingiliza ngomudwa phezu kobuso bamanzi, kuze kuphele ukukhanya ebumnyameni.

11. Izinsika zezulu ziyathuthumela; ziyethuswa ngokukhuza kwakhe.

12. Ngamandla akhe uyanyakazisa amanzi; ngokuqonda kwakhe uyachitha uRahabi.

13. Ngokuphefumula kwakhe izulu liyakhazimula; isandla sakhe sigwazile inyoka esheshayo.

14. Bheka, lokhu kungamaphethelo nje ezindlela zakhe, izwi lokunyenyeza nje elizwakalayo ngaye; indumo yamandla akhe, ngubani obeyakuyiqonda na?”
