1. “Impela ukhona umthapho wesiliva, nendawo yegolide abalicwengayo.

2. Insimbi iyakhishwa emhlabathini; amatshe ayancibilikiswa abe yithusi.

3. Ubumnyama bubekelwa umkhawulo; kuyacingwa kuze kube sekupheleni konke amatshe esigayegaye nethunzi lokufa.

4. Baqhekeza umgodi kude nalapho behlala khona abantu, lapho bekhohlakele khona lunyawo; bayalenga, bajikajika kude nabantu.

5. Umhlaba-ke, kuwona kuvela ukudla, kepha ngaphansi kwawo uyaphendukezelwa njengangomlilo.

6. Amatshe awo ayindawo yamasafire; inothuli lwegolide.

7. Lowo mgudu awaziwa yinqe, neso loheshe aliwubonanga.

8. Izilwane ezinkulu azihambanga ngawo, nengonyama ayidlulanga ngawo.

9. Uyelulela isandla sakhe etsheni lensengetsha, agumbuqele izintaba kwasezimpandeni zazo.

10. Uqhekeza imihohoba emadwaleni; iso lakhe liyabona konke okuyigugu.

11. Uyavimba imifula ukuba ingaconsi; imfihlakalo uyayikhiphela ekukhanyeni.

12. “Kepha ukuhlakanipha kufumanisekaphi? Iphi indawo yokuqonda na?

13. Umuntu kalazi inani lakho; akutholakali ezweni labaphilayo.

14. Utwa luthi: ‘Akukho kimi;’ ulwandle luthi: ‘Akukho kimi.’

15. Akunakuzuzwa ngegolide; intengo yakho ayinakulinganiswa nesiliva.

16. Kungelingane negolide lase-Ofiri, neshohamu eliyigugu, nesafire.

17. Igolide nengilazi kungelingane nakho; akunakwenaniswa ngezinto zegolide elicwengekileyo.

18. Akunakukhulunywa ngekorali nangekristalu; intengo yakho iphezu kwamarubi.

19. Itopazi laseKushe alinakulinganiswa nakho, kungelingane negolide elicwengekileyo.

20. “Ukuhlakanipha kuvelaphi na? Indawo yokuqonda iphi na?

21. Kusithekile emehlweni abo bonke abaphilayo, kufihliwe ezinyonini zezulu.

22. Ukubhujiswa nokufa kuthi: ‘Ngezindlebe zethu sizwile amahemuhemu akho.’

23. UNkulunkulu uyaqonda indlela yakho; yena uyazi indawo yakho.

24. Ngokuba uyabeka imikhawulo yomhlaba, abone konke okuphansi kwezulu.

25. Lapho emisela umoya ukusinda kwawo, elinganisa amanzi ngezilinganiso,

26. lapho enzela imvula isimiso, nonyazi lokuduma indlela,

27. khona wakubona, walanda ngakho, wakuhlela, wakuphenya.

28. Wathi kubantu: ‘Bhekani, ukwesaba iNkosi lokhu kungukuhlakanipha; ukusuka ebubini kungukuqonda.’ ”
