Psalms 85

Hoofstuk 85

1. U het, o HERE, ‘n welbehae gehad in u land; die lot van Jakob het U verander.

2. (85:3) U het die ongeregtigheid van u volk weggeneem, al hulle sonde bedek. Sela.

3. (85:4) U het al u grimmigheid teruggetrek, U het U van die gloed van u toorn afgewend.

4. (85:5) Herstel ons, o God van ons heil, en maak tot niet u grimmigheid teen ons!

5. (85:6) Sal U vir ewig teen ons toornig wees, u toorn laat duur van geslag tot geslag?

6. (85:7) Sal U ons nie weer lewend maak, sodat u volk in U bly kan wees nie?

7. (85:8) Laat ons u goedertierenheid sien, o HERE, en gee ons u heil!

8. (85:9) Ek wil hoor wat God die HERE spreek. Ja, Hy spreek vrede vir sy volk en vir sy gunsgenote; maar laat hulle nie tot dwaasheid terugkeer nie!

9. (85:10) Gewis, sy heil is naby die wat Hom vrees, sodat heerlikheid in ons land kan woon.

10. (85:11) Goedertierenheid en trou ontmoet mekaar; geregtigheid en vrede kus mekaar.

11. (85:12) Trou spruit uit die aarde en geregtigheid kyk uit die hemel neer.

12. (85:13) Ook gee die HERE die goeie, en ons land lewer sy opbrings.

13. (85:14) Geregtigheid gaan voor Hom uit, en dit let op die weg van sy voetstappe.
