1. Tena Elihu akajibu na kusema,

2. Je! Wewe wadhani kwamba haya ni haki yako, Au je! Wasema, Haki yangu ni zaidi kuliko ya Mungu,

3. Maana wasema, Kutakuwa na faida gani kwako wewe? Tena, Nitapata faida gani, kuliko nikifanya dhambi?

4. Mimi nitakujibu, Na hawa wenzio pamoja nawe.

5. Ziangalie mbingu ukaone; Na mawingu yaangalie, yaliyo juu kuliko wewe.

6. Ikiwa umefanya dhambi, umefanya nini juu yake? Yakiwa makosa yako yameongezeka, wamfanyia nini yeye?

7. Ikiwa u mwenye haki, wampa kitu gani? Au yeye hupokea nini mkononi mwako?

8. Uovu wako waweza kumwumiza mtu kama wewe; Na haki yako yaweza kumfaa mwanadamu.

9. Kwa sababu ya wingi wa jeuri wao hulia; Walilia msaada kwa sababu ya mkono wa wakuu.

10. Wala hapana asemaye, Yuko wapi Mungu Muumba wangu, Awapaye nyimbo wakati wa usiku;

11. Atufundishaye zaidi ya hayawani wa nchi, Na kutufanya wenye hekima kuliko ndege za angani?

12. Hulia huko, lakini hapana ajibuye, Kwa sababu ya kiburi cha watu waovu.

13. Hakika Mungu hatasikia ubatili, Wala Mwenyezi hatauangalia.

14. Sembuse usemapo wewe ya kuwa humwangalii, Hiyo daawa i mbele yake, nawe wamngojea!

15. Lakini sasa, kwa sababu yeye hakukujilia katika hasira zake, Wala hauangalii sana unyeti;

16. Ndiposa Ayubu hufunua kinywa chake kwa ubatili; Huongeza maneno pasipo maarifa.
