Sura 17

1. Roho yangu imezimika, siku zangu zimekoma, Kaburi i tayari kunipokea.

2. Ni kweli wako kwangu wenye kufanya dhihaka, Jicho langu hukaa katika kunifanyia uchungu kwao.

3. Nipe rehani basi, uwe dhamana kwa ajili yangu kwako wewe mwenyewe; Kuna nani atakayeniwekea dhamana?

4. Kwani mioyo yao imeificha ufahamu; Kwa hiyo hutawakuza.

5. Awafitiniye rafiki zake wawe mawindo, Hata macho ya watoto wake yataingia kiwi.

6. Amenifanya niwe simo kwa watu; Nimekuwa mwenye kuchukiwa kwa wazi.

7. Jicho langu nalo limekuwa giza kwa sababu ya majonzi, Na via vyangu vyote vimekuwa kama kivuli.

8. Walekevu watayastaajabia hayo, Na asiye na hatia atajiamsha juu ya mpotovu.

9. Lakini mwenye haki ataishika njia yake, Naye mwenye mikono safi atazidi kupata nguvu.

10. Lakini rudini; ninyi nyote, njoni sasa; Wala sitampata mtu mwenye hekima kati yenu.

11. Siku zangu zimepita, makusudi yangu yamevunjika, Hata hayo niliyo nayo moyoni mwangu.

12. Wabadili usiku kuwa mchana; Wasema, Mwanga u karibu kwa sababu ya giza.

13. Nikitazamia kuzimu kuwa nyumba yangu; Nikitandika malazi yangu gizani;

14. Ikiwa nimeuita uharibifu, Wewe u baba yangu; Na kuliambia buu, Wewe u mama yangu, na umbu langu;

15. Basi, tumaini langu li wapi? Na tumaini langu, ni nani atakayeliona?

16. Litashuka kwenye makomeo ya kuzimu, Itakapokuwapo raha mavumbini.
