1. Awo olwatuuka omwaka bwe gwatuukirira mu kiseera bakabaka mwe batabaalira, Yowaabu n'atabaaza amaanyi ag'eggye, n'azisa ensi y'abaana ba Amoni, n'ajja n'azingiza Labba. Naye Dawudi n'asigala e Yerusaalemi. Yowaabu n'amenya Labba, n'akisuula.

2. Awo Dawudi n'aggya engule ya kabaka waabwe ku mutwe gwe, n'alaba obuzito bwayo talanta ya zaabu, era nga mulimu amayinja ag'omuwendo omungi; ne bagiteeka ku mutwe gwa Dawudi: n'aggyamu omunyago ogw'omu kibuga mungi nnyo.

3. N'aggyamu abantu abaali omwo; n'abasala n'emisumeeno n'amannyo ag'ebyuma n'embazzi. Era bw'atyo Dawudi bwe yakola ebibuga byonna eby'abaana ba Amoni. Dawudi n'abantu bonna ne baddayo e Yerusaalemi.

4. Awo olwatuuka oluvannyuma lw'ebyo ne waba entalo e Gezeri n'Abafirisuuti: awo Sibbekayi Omukusasi n'atta Sippayi ow'oku baana b'erintu: ne bawangulwa.

5. Ne waba nate entalo n'Abafirisuuti; Erukanani mutabani wa Yayiri n'atta Lakami muganda wa Goliyaasi Omugitti, olunyago lw'effumu lye lwali ng'omuti ogulukirwako engoye.

6. Ne waba nate entalo e Gaasi, eyali omusajja omuwanvu ennyo, engalo ze n'obugere bwe amakumi abiri mu buna, buli mukono mukaaga, na buli kigere mukaaga; era naye yazaalirwa erintu eryo.

7. Awo bwe yasoomoza Isiraeri, Yonasaani mutabani wa Simeeya muganda wa Dawudi n'amutta.

8. Abo baazaalirwa erintu eryo e Gaasi; ne bagwa n'omukono gwa Dawudi, n'omukono gw'abaddu be.
