1. Selidlulile isabatha, oMariya Magdalena, noMariya unina kaJakobe, noSalome bathenga amakha ukuba beze bamgcobe.

2. Ekuseni kakhulu ngosuku lokuqala lweviki beza ethuneni ekuphumeni kwelanga.

3. Bakhuluma bodwa, bathi: “Ngubani oyakusigingqela itshe, lisuke emnyango wethuna na?”

4. Bathi ukubheka, babona ukuthi itshe seligingqiwe; ngokuba lalilikhulu kakhulu.

5. Kuthe bengena ethuneni, babona insizwa ihlezi ngakwesokunene yembethe ingubo ende emhlophe; bethuka.

6. Kepha yathi kubo: “Ningethuki; nifuna uJesu waseNazaretha obebethelwe esiphambanweni; uvukile; kakho lapha; bhekani nansi indawo lapho bebembeke khona.

7. Kodwa hambani nitshele abafundi bakhe kanye noPetru ukuthi uyanandulela ukuya eGalile; nizakumbona lapho, njengalokho eshilo kini.”

8. Base bephuma, babaleka ethuneni, ngokuba babefikelwe ngukuthuthumela nokumangala, kabashongo lutho kumuntu, ngokuba babesaba.

9. Esevukile, kusekuseni ngosuku lokuqala lweviki, wabonakala kuqala kuMariya Magdalena ayekhiphe kuye amademoni ayisikhombisa.

10. Yena wahamba wababikela labo ababe naye uJesu, besalila bekhala.

11. Kwathi bona sebezwile ukuthi uyaphila nokuthi uboniwe nguye, abaze bakholwa.

12. Emva kwalokho wabonakala ngesinye isimo kwababili kubo behamba beya emaphandleni.

13. Nabo bahamba babikela abanye; nalabo abaze bakholwa.

14. Ngasemuva wabonakala kwabayishumi nanye behlezi ekudleni, wabasola ngokungakholwa kwabo nangobulukhuni benhliziyo yabo, ngokuba bengakholwanga yilabo abambonileyo esevukile.

15. Wayesethi kubo: “Hambani niye ezweni lonke, nishumayele ivangeli kukho konke okudaliweyo.

16. Okholwayo abhapathizwe uyakusindiswa, kepha ongakholwayo uyakulahlwa.

17. Lezi zibonakaliso ziyakubalandela abakholwayo: ngegama lami bayakukhipha amademoni, bashumayele ngezilimi ezintsha,

18. baphathe izinyoka; uma bephuza okubulalayo, akusoze kwaba nangozi; bayakubeka izandla phezu kwabagulayo, basinde.”

19. Njalo-ke iNkosi uJesu isikhulumile kubo yakhushulelwa ezulwini, yahlala ngakwesokunene sikaNkulunkulu.

20. Kepha bona bephuma bashumayela ezindaweni zonke, iNkosi isebenza nabo, iqinisa izwi ngezibonakaliso ezilandelayo.
