1. Þú hefir haft þóknun á landi þínu, Drottinn, snúið við hag Jakobs,

2. (85:3) þú hefir fyrirgefið misgjörð lýðs þíns, hulið allar syndir þeirra. [Sela]

3. (85:4) Þú hefir dregið að þér alla bræði þína, látið af heiftarreiði þinni.

4. (85:5) Snú þér til vor aftur, þú Guð hjálpræðis vors, og lát af gremju þinni í gegn oss.

5. (85:6) Ætlar þú að vera oss reiður um eilífð, láta reiði þína haldast við frá kyni til kyns?

6. (85:7) Vilt þú eigi láta oss lifna við aftur, svo að lýður þinn megi gleðjast yfir þér?

7. (85:8) Lát oss, Drottinn, sjá miskunn þína og veit oss hjálpræði þitt!

8. (85:9) Ég vil hlýða á það sem Guð Drottinn talar. Hann talar frið til lýðs síns og til dýrkenda sinna og til þeirra, er snúa hjarta sínu til hans.

9. (85:10) Já, hjálp hans er nálæg þeim er óttast hann, og vegsemdir munu búa í landi voru.

10. (85:11) Elska og trúfesti mætast, réttlæti og friður kyssast.

11. (85:12) Trúfesti sprettur upp úr jörðunni, og réttlæti lítur niður af himni.

12. (85:13) Þá gefur og Drottinn gæði, og land vort veitir afurðir sínar.

13. (85:14) Réttlæti fer fyrir honum, og friður fylgir skrefum hans.
