1. þá er Dóeg Edómíti kom og sagði Sál frá og mælti til hans: Davíð er kominn í hús Ahímeleks. (52:3) Hví stærir þú þig af vonskunni, harðstjóri? Miskunn Guðs varir alla daga!
2. (52:4) Tunga þín býr yfir skaðræði, eins og beittur rakhnífur, þú svikaforkur!
3. (52:5) Þú elskar illt meir en gott, lygi fremur en sannsögli. [Sela]
4. (52:6) Þú elskar hvert skaðræðisorð, þú fláráða tunga!
5. (52:7) Því mun og Guð brjóta þig niður fyrir fullt og allt, hrífa þig burt og draga þig út úr tjaldi þínu og uppræta þig úr landi lifenda. [Sela]
6. (52:8) Hinir réttlátu munu sjá það og óttast, og þeir munu hlæja að honum:
7. (52:9) "Þetta er maðurinn, sem ekki gjörði Guð að vernd sinni, heldur treysti á hin miklu auðæfi sín og þrjóskaðist í illsku sinni."
8. (52:10) En ég er sem grænt olíutré í húsi Guðs, treysti á Guðs náð um aldur og ævi.
9. (52:11) Ég vil vegsama þig að eilífu, því að þú hefir því til vegar komið, kunngjöra fyrir augum þinna trúuðu, að nafn þitt sé gott.
