1. Into eyafikayo kuYeremiya umprofeti, ililizwi likaYehova ngokusingisele kumaFilisti, uFaro engekayixabeli iGaza, yaye iyile:

2. Utsho uYehova ukuthi, Yabona, kunyuka entla amanzi angumlambo ongumkhukula, ontywilisela ilizwe nenzaliseko yalo, imizi nabemi bayo; sikhale isintu, babhomboloze bonke abemi belizwe.

3. Ngenxa yesingqi sokunyathela kwamanqina eembalasane zamahashe akhe, ngenxa yokugoqoza kweenqwelo zakhe zokulwa, ngokuxokozela kweevili zakhe, ooyise abasabheki koonyana ngokuwa kwezandla;

4. ngenxa yemini eza kuwabhuqa onke amaFilisti, eza kunqumla eTire neTsidon bonke abasale banceda; ngokuba uYehova uyawabhuqa amaFilisti, amasalela onxweme lwaseKafetori.

5. Isezileni iGaza, itshabalele iAshkelon, amasalela entili yabo.

6. Kunini na uzicenta? Awu! Krele likaYehova, kunini na ungaphezi? Rhoxela esingxotyeni sakho; phumla, uthi cwaka.

7. Ungathini na ukupheza, uYehova ekuwisele umthetho nje? EAshkelon naselunxwemeni lolwandle, apho ukuyalele.
