1. ସହେି ସମୟରେ ବାବିଲ ରାଜା ବଲଦନର ପୁତ୍ର ମଲୋଦକ୍-ବଲଦନ ହିଜକିଯ ନିକଟକୁ ପତ୍ର ଓ ଦର୍ଶନୀ ପଠାଇଲା। କାରଣ ହିଜକିଯଙ୍କର ଅସୁସ୍ଥତା ଓ ଆରୋଗ୍ୟ ଲାଭ ସେ ଶୁଣିଥିଲା।

2. ଏଥି ରେ ହିଜକିଯ ଅତିଶଯ ସନ୍ତୁଷ୍ଟ ହାଇେ ନିଜର ବହୁମୂଲ୍ଯ ପଦାର୍ଥର ଗୃହ, ରୂପା, ସୂନା, ସୁଗନ୍ଧିତ ଦ୍ରବ୍ଯ ବହୁମୂଲ୍ଯ ତୈଳ, ନିଜର ଅସ୍ତ୍ରାଗାର ଓ ଆପଣା ଭଣ୍ଡାର ସ୍ଥିତ ସମସ୍ତ ଦ୍ରବ୍ଯ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଦଖାଇେଲେ। ହିଜକିଯ ଯାହା ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ନ ଦଖାଇେଲା ତାହା ତା'ର ଗୃହ ରେ କିମ୍ବା ସମଗ୍ର ରାଜ୍ଯ ରେ ନ ଥିଲା।

3. ସେତବେେଳେ ଭବିଷ୍ଯତ୍ବକ୍ତା ଯିଶାଇୟ ରାଜା ହିଜକିଯ ନିକଟକୁ ୟାଇ ତାଙ୍କୁ ପଚାରିଲେ, "ଏହି ଲୋକମାନେ କ'ଣ କହିଲେ ? ସମାନେେ କେଉଁଠାରୁ ଆସିଲେ ?'

4. ଯିଶାଇୟ ପଚାରିଲେ, " ସମାନେେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଗୃହ ରେ କ'ଣ ଦେଖିଅଛନ୍ତି ?'

5. ଏଥି ରେ ଯିଶାଇୟ ହିଜକିଯଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, "ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସର୍ବଶକ୍ତିମାନଙ୍କ କଥା ଶୁଣ।

6. ଦେଖ, ଏକ ସମୟ ଆସୁଛି ଯେତବେେଳେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଗୃହସ୍ଥିତ ସମସ୍ତ ଦ୍ରବ୍ଯ ଓ ଆଜି ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ସଞ୍ଚିତ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷଙ୍କ ଦ୍ରବ୍ଯ ବାବିଲକୁ ନିଆୟିବ।' ସର୍ବଶକ୍ତିମାନ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କୁହନ୍ତି କୌଣସି ଦ୍ରବ୍ଯ ଛଡ଼ାୟିବ ନାହିଁ।

7. ତୁମ୍ଭ ଔରସରୁ ଜାତ ସନ୍ତାନମାନଙ୍କୁ ବାବିଲମାନେ ନଇେଯିବେ ଓ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ବାବିଲମାନେ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ଅଟ୍ଟାଳିକା ରେ ନପୁଂସକ କରି ରଖିବେ।'

8. ସେତବେେଳେ ହିଜକିଯ ଯିଶାଇୟଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା, "ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଯେଉଁ ବାକ୍ଯ କହିଅଛ ତାହା ଉତ୍ତମ।" ସେ ପୁଣି କହିଲା, "କାରଣ ମାେ ସମୟରେ ଶାନ୍ତି ଓ ସତ୍ଯତା ବିରାଜିତ ହବେ।'
