1. “Ngalolo suku kuyakuba khona umthombo ovulelwa izono nokungcola kwendlu kaDavide nabakhileyo eJerusalema.

2. “Kuyakuthi ngalolo suku,” usho uJehova Sebawoti, “nginqume amagama ezithombe ezweni, zingabe zisakhunjulwa, ngidlulise abaprofethi nawomoya abangcolileyo ezweni.

3. Kuyakuthi uma kusaprofetha umuntu, uyise nonina abamzalayo basho kuye ukuthi: ‘Awuyikuphila, ngokuba ukhuluma amanga egameni likaJehova,’ uyise nonina abamzalayo bamgwaze esaprofetha.

4. “Kuyakuthi ngalolo suku abaprofethi babe namahloni, kube yilowo nalowo ngombono wakhe ekuprofetheni kwakhe, bangembathi ingubo yoboya ukuyokhohlisa;

5. kepha uyakuthi: ‘Angisiye umprofethi, ngingumlimi womhlabathi, ngokuba umuntu wangithenga ebusheni bami.’

6. Uma sekuthiwa kuye: ‘Iyini leyo mivimbo esezandleni zakho na?’ uyakuthi: ‘Engashaywa ngayo endlini yabathandiweyo bami.’

7. “Vuka, nkemba, uvukele umalusi wami, uvukele umuntu ongumngane wami,” usho uJehova Sebawoti. “Shaya umalusi, zize zihlakazeke izimvu, bese ngiphendulela abancane isandla sami.

8. Kuyakuthi ezweni lonke,” usho uJehova, “kunqunywe izinxenye ezimbili kulo, zibhubhe, kusale eyesithathu kulo.

9. Ngiyakungenisa inxenye yesithathu emlilweni, ngibacwengisise njengokucwengisiswa kwesiliva, ngibavivinye njengokuvivinywa kwegolide; bayakubiza igama lami, ngibaphendule, ngithi: ‘Bangabantu bami;’ base bethi: ‘UJehova unguNkulunkulu wami.’ ”
