1. आम्ही बाबेलच्या नद्यांजवळ बसलो आणि सियोनची आठवण काढून रडलो.
2. आम्ही जवळच्या वाळुंज झाडावर आमच्या वीणा ठेवल्या.
3. बाबेलमध्ये आम्हाला पकडणाऱ्यांनी आम्हाला गायला सांगितले. त्यांनी आम्हाला आनंदी गाणे गायला सांगितले. त्यांनी आम्हाला सियोनचे गाणे गायला सांगितले.
4. परंतु परक्या देशात आम्ही परमेश्वराचे गाणे गाऊ शकत नाही.
5. यरुशलेम, मी जर तुला कधी विसरलो, तर मी पुन्हा कधीही गाणे वाजवणार नाही असे मला वाटते.
6. यरुशलेम मी जर तुला कधी विसरलो, तर मी पुन्हा कधी गाणे म्हणणार नाही, असे मला वाटते. मी तुला कधीही विसरणार नाही असे मी वचन देतो.
7. यरुशलेम नेहमी माझा सर्वांत मोठा आनंद असेल असे मी वचन देतो.
8. ख जो तुला देईल त्याला धन्यवाद.
9. जो माणूस तुझी मुले धरतो आणि त्यांना दगडावर आपटून ठार मारतो त्याचा धन्यवाद असो.
