1. ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਚਟਾਨ ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਹੋਵੇ, ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੁੱਧ ਕਰਨਾ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਉਂਗਲੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੜਨਾ ਸਿਖਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ,—

2. ਮੇਰੀ ਦਯਾ, ਮੇਰਾ ਗੜ੍ਹ, ਮੇਰਾ ਉੱਚਾ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਛੁਡਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਮੇਰੀ ਢਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਜਿਹ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਂ ਪਨਾਹ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

3. ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਆਦਮੀ ਕੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਆਣੇਂ, ਤੇ ਆਦਮ ਦਾ ਵੰਸ ਕੀ, ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਖਿਆਲ ਕਰੇਂ?

4. ਆਦਮੀ ਸੁਆਸ ਹੀ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਢਲਦੇ ਸਾਯੇ ਵਰਗੇ ਹਨ।

5. ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਆਪਣੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਝੁਕਾ ਤੇ ਉਤਰ ਆ, ਪਹਾੜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੋਹ ਭਈ ਧੂੰਆਂ ਨਿੱਕਲੇ!

6. ਬਿਜਲੀ ਲਿਸ਼ਕਾ ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਿੰਡਾ ਦੇਹ, ਆਪਣੇ ਬਾਣ ਚਲਾ ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਘਬਰਾ ਦੇਹ!

7. ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਉੱਪਰੋਂ ਪਸਾਰ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਧੂ ਕੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਪਾਣੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਛੁਡਾ! ਅਰਥਾਤ ਓਪਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ,

8. ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਬੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੱਜਾ ਹੱਥ ਝੂਠ ਦਾ ਸੱਜਾ ਹੱਥ ਹੈ।

9. ਹੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਨਵਾਂ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਵਾਂਗਾ, ਦਸ ਤਾਰਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਸਿਤਾਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਭਜਨ ਗਾਵਾਂਗਾ।

10. ਜਿਹੜਾ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਭੈੜੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਖਿੱਚ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ!

11. ਓਪਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਖਿੱਚ ਕੇ ਛੁਡਾ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਬੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੱਜਾ ਹੱਥ ਝੂਠ ਦਾ ਸੱਜਾ ਹੱਥ ਹੈ!।

12. ਸਾਡੇ ਪੁੱਤ੍ਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੁਆਨੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੂਟਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਙੁ ਵਧਣ, ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੀਆਂ ਧੀਆਂ ਖੂੰਜੇ ਦੇ ਪੱਥਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿਆਈਂ ਹੋਣ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਹਿਲ ਲਈ ਘੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੋਣ।

13. ਸਾਡੇ ਖਾਤੇ ਭਾਂਤ ਭਾਂਤ ਦੇ ਅਨਾਜ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੋਣ, ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਾੜੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਨਾਲ,

14. ਸਾਡੇ ਬਲਦ ਚੰਗੇ ਲੱਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੋਣ, ਅਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਸੰਨ੍ਹ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਨਾ ਬਾਹਰ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਨਾ ਸਾਡੇ ਚੌਂਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਡੰਡ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਹੋਵੇ,—

15. ਤਾਂ ਧੰਨ ਓਹ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਹਾਲ ਹੋਵੇ! ਧੰਨ ਓਹ ਲੋਕ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹੈ!।
