Κεφάλαιο 8
1. ΚΥΡΙΕ, ο Κύριός μας, πόσο είναι θαυμαστό το όνομά σου σε ολόκληρη τη γη! Ο οποίος έβαλες τη δόξα σου πιο ψηλά από τους ουρανούς.
2. Από στόμα νηπίων και θηλαζόντων ετοίμασες αίνεση, ένεκα των εχθρών σου, για να καταργήσεις τον εχθρό και τον εκδικητή.
3. Όταν θωρώ τους ουρανούς σου, το έργο των δακτύλων σου, το φεγγάρι και τα αστέρια, που εσύ θεμελίωσες,
4. τι είναι ο άνθρωπος, ώστε να τον θυμάσαι; Ή, ο γιος τού ανθρώπου, ώστε να τον επισκέπτεσαι;
5. Εσύ, μάλιστα, τον έκανες λίγο πιο κατώτερο από τους αγγέλους, όμως με δόξα και τιμή τον στεφάνωσες.
6. Τον κατέστησες κυρίαρχο επάνω στα έργα των χεριών σου· όλα τα υπέταξες κάτω από τα πόδια του·
7. όλα τα πρόβατα και τα βόδια, ακόμα δε και τα ζώα τού χωραφιού·
8. τα πουλιά τού ουρανού, και τα ψάρια τής θάλασσας, όλα εκείνα που διασχίζουν τους δρόμους των θαλασσών.
9. Κύριε, ο Κύριός μας, πόσο είναι θαυμαστό το όνομά σου σε ολόκληρη τη γη!
