Κεφάλαιο 124

1. ΑΝ ο Κύριος δεν ήταν μαζί μας, ας πει τώρα ο Ισραήλ·

2. αν ο Κύριος δεν ήταν μαζί μας, όταν άνθρωποι σηκώθηκαν εναντίον μας,

3. ζωντανούς θα μας κατέπιναν τότε, ενώ ο θυμός τους φλεγόταν εναντίον μας·

4. τότε, τα νερά θα μας είχαν καταποντίσει, ο χείμαρρος θα είχε περάσει από πάνω από την ψυχή μας·

5. τότε, τα υψωμένα νερά θα είχαν περάσει από πάνω από την ψυχή μας.

6. Ευλογητός ο Κύριος, που δεν μας παρέδωσε ως θήραμα στα δόντια τους.

7. Η ψυχή μας λυτρώθηκε, σαν το πουλί από την παγίδα των κυνηγών· η παγίδα συντρίφτηκε, κι εμείς λυτρωθήκαμε.

8. Η βοήθειά μας είναι στο όνομα του Κυρίου, που δημιούργησε τον ουρανό και τη γη.
