1. Ahlatyelwa umkhosi eza amadoda akwaEfrayim, awela aya entla, athi kuYifeta, Ibiyini na ukuba ugqithe uye kulwa noonyana baka-Amon, ungasibizanga sihambe nawe? Siya kuyitshisa ngomlilo indlu yakho phezu kwakho.

2. Wathi uYifeta kuwo, Mna bendingumfo wembambano, mna nabantu bam besibambene kunene noonyana baka-Amon; ndanihlabela umkhosi, anandisindisa esandleni sabo.

3. Ndithe ndakubona ukuba anindisindisi, ndawenza isichenge umphefumlo wam, ndawela ndaya koonyana baka-Amon; uYehova wabanikela esandleni sam. Kungani na ukuba ninyuke namhla, nize kulwa nam?

4. Wawabutha uYifeta onke amadoda aseGiliyadi, walwa namaEfrayim. Amadoda aseGiliyadi awabulala amaEfrayim, ngokuba ebesithi, Ningabasabileyo kumaEfrayim, nina maGiliyadi, phakathi kwamaEfrayim namaManase.

5. AmaGiliyadi awaphangela amaEfrayim ngokuvingca amazibuko eYordan. Babesithi abasabileyo bakwaEfrayim bakuthi, Mandiwele, athi kuye amadoda aseGiliyadi, UngumEfrayim na? Ubesithi akuthi, Hayi,

6. athi kuye, Khawuthi, Shibholete; wathi yena, Sibholete, engalungisi ukulibiza ngokwenjenjalo; asuke ambambe, amsike emazibukweni eYordan. Kwawa ke ngelo xesha kumaEfrayim amawaka angamashumi omane anamabini.

7. UYifeta wawalawula amaSirayeli iminyaka yamithandathu. Wafa ke uYifeta umGiliyadi, wangcwatyelwa komnye wemizi yaseGiliyadi.

8. Emveni kwakhe wawalawula amaSirayeli uIbhetsan waseBhetelehem.

9. Wayenoonyana abamashumi mathathu; waya kwendisa ngaphandle iintombi ezimashumi mathathu, wazekela oonyana bakhe iintombi ezimashumi mathathu ezivela ngaphandle. Wawalawula amaSirayeli iminyaka esixhenxe.

10. Wafa ke uIbhetsan, wangcwatyelwa eBhetelehem.

11. Emveni kwakhe wawalawula amaSirayeli uElon, umZebhulon; wawalawula amaSirayeli iminyaka elishumi.

12. Wafa ke uElon umZebhulon, wangcwatyelwa eAyalon, ezweni lakwaZebhulon.

13. Emveni kwakhe wawalawula amaSirayeli uAbhedon, unyana kaHileli, wasePiraton.

14. Waye enoonyana abamashumi mane, noonyana boonyana abamashumi mathathu, abakhwela kumaesile amatsha amashumi asixhenxe. Wawalawula amaSirayeli iminyaka esibhozo.

15. Wafa ke uAbhedon unyana kaHileli, wasePiraton, wangcwatyelwa ePiraton ezweni lakwaEfrayim, kweleentaba lama-Amaleki.
