Κεφάλαιο 4

1. ΟΤΑΝ σε επικαλούμαι, εισάκουγέ με, Θεέ τής δικαιοσύνης μου· μέσα σε στενοχώρια με πλάτυνες· ελέησέ με, και εισάκουσε την προσευχή μου.

2. Γιοι ανθρώπων, μέχρι πότε θα μετατρέπετε τη δόξα μου σε ντροπή, αγαπάτε ματαιότητα, και ζητάτε το ψέμα; (Διάψαλμα).

3. Αλλά, μάθετε ότι ο Κύριος έκλεξε τον όσιό του· ο Κύριος θα ακούσει, όταν κράζω σ' αυτόν.

4. Οργίζεστε, και μη αμαρτάνετε· μιλάτε στις καρδιές σας επάνω στο κρεβάτι σας, και ησυχάζετε. (Διάψαλμα).

5. Θυσιάστε θυσίες δικαιοσύνης, και ελπίστε στον Κύριο.

6. Πολλοί λένε: Ποιος θα μας δείξει το αγαθό; Ύψωσε επάνω μας το φως τού προσώπου σου, Κύριε.

7. Έδωσες στην καρδιά μου μεγαλύτερη ευφροσύνη, από όση απολαμβάνουν αυτοί, όταν πληθαίνει το σιτάρι τους και το κρασί τους.

8. Με ειρήνη και θα πλαγιάσω και θα κοιμηθώ· επειδή, εσύ μόνος, Κύριε, με κατοικίζεις με ασφάλεια.
