1. ความสุขเป็นของบุคคลผู้ไม่ดำเนินตามคำแนะนำของคนอธรรม หรือยืนอยู่ในทางของคนบาป หรือนั่งอยู่ในที่นั่งของคนที่ชอบเยาะเย้ย

2. แต่ความปีติยินดีของผู้นั้นอยู่ในพระราชบัญญัติของพระเยโฮวาห์ เขาไตร่ตรองถึงพระราชบัญญัติของพระองค์ทั้งกลางวันและกลางคืน

3. เขาจะเป็นเช่นต้นไม้ที่ปลูกไว้ริมธารน้ำ ซึ่งเกิดผลตามฤดูกาล และใบก็จะไม่เหี่ยวแห้ง การทุกอย่างซึ่งเขากระทำก็จะจำเริญขึ้น

4. คนอธรรมไม่เป็นเช่นนั้น แต่เป็นเหมือนแกลบซึ่งลมพัดกระจายไป

5. เหตุฉะนั้นคนอธรรมจะไม่ยั่งยืนอยู่ได้เมื่อถึงการพิพากษา หรือคนบาปไม่ยืนยงในที่ชุมนุมของคนชอบธรรม

6. เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงทราบทางของคนชอบธรรม แต่ทางของคนอธรรมจะพินาศไป
