บท 127

1. ถ้าพระเยโฮวาห์มิได้ทรงสร้างบ้าน บรรดาผู้ที่สร้างก็เหนื่อยเปล่า ถ้าพระเยโฮวาห์มิได้ทรงเฝ้าอยู่เหนือนคร คนยามตื่นอยู่ก็เหนื่อยเปล่า

2. เป็นการเหนื่อยเปล่าที่ท่านลุกขึ้นแต่เช้ามืด นอนดึก และกินอาหารแห่งความเศร้าโศก เพราะพระองค์ประทานแก่ผู้ที่รักของพระองค์ให้หลับสบาย

3. ดูเถิด บุตรทั้งหลายเป็นมรดกจากพระเยโฮวาห์ ผู้บังเกิดจากครรภ์เป็นรางวัลของพระองค์

4. บุตรทั้งหลายที่เกิดเมื่อเขายังหนุ่มก็เหมือนลูกธนูในมือนักรบ

5. ชายใดๆที่มีลูกธนูเต็มแล่งก็เป็นสุข เขาจะไม่ต้องละอาย แต่เขาจะพูดกับศัตรูของเขาที่ประตูเมือง
