1. คนโง่รำพึงในใจของตนว่า "ไม่มีพระเจ้า" เขาทั้งหลายก็เลวทรามลง เขากระทำกิจการที่น่าสะอิดสะเอียน ไม่มีสักคนเดียวที่ทำดี

2. พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงมองลงมาจากฟ้าสวรรค์ ดูบุตรทั้งหลายของมนุษย์ว่าจะมีคนใดบ้างที่เข้าใจที่เสาะแสวงหาพระเจ้า

3. เขาทั้งหลายก็หลงเจิ่นไปหมด เขาทั้งหลายก็เลวทรามลงเหมือนกันสิ้น ไม่มีสักคนเดียวที่ทำดี ไม่มีเลย

4. บรรดาผู้ที่กระทำความชั่วช้าไม่มีความรู้หรือ คือผู้ที่กินประชาชนของเราอย่างกินขนมปัง และไม่ร้องทูลพระเยโฮวาห์

5. เขาทั้งหลายอยู่ที่นั่นอย่างน่าสยดสยองยิ่งนัก เพราะพระเจ้าทรงสถิตตลอดชั่วอายุของผู้ชอบธรรม

6. เจ้าได้คว่ำแผนงานของคนยากจนเสีย แต่พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงเป็นที่ลี้ภัยของเขา

7. ขอการช่วยให้รอดเพื่ออิสราเอลมาจากศิโยนเสียทีเถิด เมื่อพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงให้พวกเชลยแห่งประชาชนของพระองค์กลับสู่สภาพเดิม ยาโคบจะปลาบปลื้ม อิสราเอลจะยินดี
