1. ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์ ศัตรูของข้าพระองค์ทวีมากขึ้นเหลือเกิน คู่อริมากมายเหล่านี้กำลังลุกขึ้นต่อสู้ข้าพระองค์

2. มีคนเป็นอันมากกำลังกล่าวถึงจิตวิญญาณข้าพระองค์ว่า "ในพระเจ้าไม่มีทางรอดสำหรับเขา" เซลาห์

3. ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์ พระองค์ทรงเป็นโล่ล้อมรอบตัวข้าพระองค์ พระองค์ทรงเป็นสง่าราศีของข้าพระองค์ และทรงเป็นผู้ชูศีรษะของข้าพระองค์ไว้

4. ข้าพเจ้าร้องทูลพระเยโฮวาห์ด้วยเสียงของข้าพเจ้า และพระองค์ทรงฟังข้าพเจ้าจากภูเขาอันบริสุทธิ์ของพระองค์ เซลาห์

5. ข้าพเจ้านอนลงและหลับไป ข้าพเจ้ากลับตื่นขึ้น เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงอุปถัมภ์ข้าพเจ้า

6. ข้าพเจ้าไม่กลัวคนเป็นหมื่นๆ ซึ่งตั้งตนต่อสู้ข้าพเจ้าอยู่รอบด้าน

7. ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์ โปรดทรงลุกขึ้น ข้าแต่พระเจ้าของข้าพระองค์ โปรดทรงช่วยข้าพระองค์ให้พ้น เพราะพระองค์ทรงตบแก้มศัตรูทั้งหลายของข้าพระองค์ และทรงทุบฟันของคนอธรรมทั้งปวง

8. การช่วยให้รอดเป็นของพระเยโฮวาห์ ขอพระพรของพระองค์หลั่งลงเหนือประชาชนของพระองค์เทอญ เซลาห์
