Kapittel 87

1. Den stad han har grunnfestet på de hellige berg,

2. Sions porter elsker Herren fremfor alle Jakobs boliger.

3. Herlige ting er sagt om dig, du Guds stad. Sela.

4. Jeg nevner Rahab [de. Egypten.] og Babel blandt dem som kjenner mig; se filisteren og tyrieren med etioperen: Denne er født der.

5. Og om Sion skal det sies: Hver og en er født der. Og han, den Høieste, gjør det fast.

6. Herren skal telle når folkene blir opskrevet, og si: Denne er født der. Sela.

7. Og de som synger og danser, skal si: Alle mine kilder er i dig.
