1. Kun Israel lähti Egyptistä, Jaakobin suku vieraskielisestä kansasta,

2. silloin Juuda tuli hänen pyhäkökseen, Israel hänen valtakunnaksensa.

3. Sen näki meri ja pakeni, Jordan kääntyi takaisin.

4. Vuoret hyppivät niinkuin oinaat, kukkulat niinkuin lammasten karitsat.

5. Mikä sinun on, meri, kun pakenet, mikä sinun, Jordan, kun käännyt takaisin?

6. Te vuoret, miksi hypitte kuin oinaat, te kukkulat, kuin lammasten karitsat?

7. Vapise, maa, Herran kasvojen edessä, Jaakobin Jumalan kasvojen edessä,

8. joka muuttaa kallion vesilammikoksi, kovan kiven vesilähteeksi.
