باب 127

1. اگر خُداوند ہی گھر نہ بنائے تو بنانے والے کی محنت عبث ہے۔ اگر خُداوند ہی شہر کی حفاظت نہ کرے تو نگہبان کا جاگنا عبث ہے۔

2. تمہارے لئے سویرے اُٹھنا اور دیر میں آرام کرنا اور مُشقت کی روٹی کھانا عبث ہے۔ کیونکہ وہ اپنے محبوب کو تو نیند میں ہ دیدیتا ہے۔

3. دیکھو! اولاد خُداوند کی طرف سے میراث ہے۔ اور پیٹ کا پھل اُس کی طرف سے اجر ہے۔

4. جوانی کے فرزند ایسے ہیں جیَسے زبردست کے ہاتھ میں تیر۔

5. خُوش نصیب ہے وہ آدمی جِسکا تر کش اُس نے بھرا ہے۔ جب وہ اپنے دُشمنوں سے پھاٹک پر باتیں کرینگے تو شرمندہ نہ ہونگے۔
