فصل 64

1. ای خدا وقتی که تضرع می‌نمایم، آواز مرا بشنو و حیاتم را از خوف دشمن نگاهدار!

2. مرا از مشاورت شریران پنهان کن و از هنگامهٔ گناهکاران.

3. که زبان خود را مثل شمشیرتیز کرده‌اند و تیرهای خود، یعنی سخنان تلخ را بر زه آراسته‌اند.

4. تا در کمینهای خود بر مرد کامل بیندازند. ناگهان بر او می‌اندازند و نمی‌ترسند.

5. خویشتن را برای کار زشت تقویّت می‌دهند. دربارهٔٔ پنهان کردن دامها گفتگو می‌کنند. می‌گویند، کیست که ما را ببیند؟

6. کارهای بد را تدبیر می‌کنند و می‌گویند، تدبیر نیکو کرده‌ایم. و اندرون و قلب هر یک از ایشان عمیق است.

7. امّا خدا تیرها بر ایشان خواهد انداخت و ناگهان جراحتهای ایشان خواهد شد،

8. و زبانهای خود را برخود فرود خواهند آورد و هر که ایشان را بیند فرار خواهد کرد.

9. و جمیع آدمیان خواهند ترسید و کار خدا را اعلام خواهند کرد و عمل او را درک خواهند نمود.

10. و مرد صالح در خداوند شادی می‌کند و بر او توکّل می‌دارد و جمیع راست‌دلان، فخر خواهند نمود.
