1. Ýunusa Rebbiň sözi ikinji gezek geldi: «Hany bol, Ninewä – şol beýik şähere git-de, Meniň özüňe aýdýanlarymy onuň halkyna ýetir!»

3. Şunlukda, Ýunus Rebbiň sözüne boýun boldy we Ninewä tarap ýola düşdi. Ninewe juda uly şäherdi. Onuň ol başyndan bu başyna çenli üç günlük ýoldy.

4. Ýunus şähere girdi we bir günlük ýol geçip: «Ýene kyrk günden Ninewe ýykyljak» diýip jar çekdi.

5. Nineweliler Hudaýa ynandylar. Olar uludan-kiçä oraza yglan etdiler we jul geýindiler.

6. Bu habar Ninewe patyşasyna ýetende, ol tagtyndan düşüp, şa lybasyny çykardy we jul geýnip, kül üstünde oturdy.

7. Soňra ol özüniň hem-de töreleriniň adyndan Ninewäniň halkyna şeýle buýruk berdi: «Ähli adamlar-da, haýwanlardyr mal-garalar-da hiç zat iýmesinler, suw-da içmesinler.

8. Ynsan-u haýwan jul geýinsin, bar güýji bilen Hudaýa perýat etsin, öz ýaman ýolundan dönüp, bet işlerinden el çeksin.

9. Belki, Hudaý pikirini üýtgeder, gazabyndan saklanar; şeýdip, biz heläk bolmarys».

10. Şondan soň Hudaý olaryň edenlerini, ýaman ýoldan dönendiklerini görüp, gazabyndan saklanyp, görkezjek diýen erbetligini olara görkezmekden el çekdi. ‎
