1. Sionul are temeliile aşezate pe munţii cei sfinţi:

2. Domnul iubeşte porţile Sionului mai mult decît toate locaşurile lui Iacov.

3. Lucruri pline de slavă au fost spuse despre tine, cetate a lui Dumnezeu! –

4. eu pomenesc Egiptul şi Babilonul printre cei ce Mă cunosc; iată, ţara Filistenilor, Tirul, cu Etiopia: ,,în Sion s'au născut.“ –

5. Iar despre Sion este zis: ,,Toţi s'au născut în el,“ şi Cel Prea Înalt îl întăreşte.

6. Domnul numără popoarele, scriindu-le: ,,Acolo s'au născut.“ –

7. Şi cei ce cîntă şi ceice joacă strigă: ,,Toate izvoarele mele sînt în Tine.“
