1. اور خداوند کا کلام مجھ پر نازل ہوا ۔

2. کہ اے آدمزاد کیا تاک کی لکڑی اور درختوں کی لکڑی سے شاخ انگور جنگل کے درختوں سے کچھ بہتر ہے؟

3. کیا اس کی لکڑی کوئی لیتا ہے کہ اس سے کچھ بنائے؟ یا لوگ اسکی کھونٹیاں بنا لیتے ہیں کہ ان پر برتن لٹکائیں؟

4. دیکھ وہ آگ میں ایندھن کےلئے ڈالی جاتی ہے جب آگ اس کے دونوں سروں کو کھا گئی اور درمیانی حصہ کو بھسم کر چکی تو کیا وہ کسی کام کی ہے؟

5. دیکھ جب وہ سالم تھی تو کسی کام کی نہ تھی اور جب آگ سے جل گئی تو کس کام کی ہے؟

6. پس خداوند خدا یوں فرماتا ہے کہ جس طرح میں نے جنگل کے درختوں میں سے انگور کے درخت کو آگ کا ایندھن بنایا اسی طرح یروشلیم کے باشندوں کو بناﺅں گا۔

7. اور میرا چہرہ ان کے خلاف ہو گا ۔ وہ آگ سے نکل بھاگیں گے پر آگ ان کو بھسم کرے گی اور جب میرا چہرہ ان کے خلاف ہو گا تو تم جانو گے کہ خداوند میں ہوں۔

8. اور میں ملک کو اجاڑ ڈالوں گا اس لئے کہ انہوں نے بڑی بے وفائی کی ہے خداوند خدا فرماتا ہے۔
