अध्याय 20

1. सर्गोन अश्शूरचा राजा होता. त्याने तर्तानला अश्दोदवर स्वारी करायला पाठविले. तर्तानने चढाई करून ते शहर जिंकून घेतले.

2. त्या वेळेला आमोजचा मुलगा यशया याला परमेश्वर म्हणाला, “जा तुझ्या अंगावरील शोकप्रदर्शक कपडे व जोडे काढ.” यशयाने परमेश्वराच्या आज्ञेच पालन केले आणि तो उघडा व अनवाणी चालला.

3. तेव्हा परमेश्वर म्हणाला, “यशया तीन वर्षे उघडा व अनवाणी फिरला. हा मिसर व कूशयाला संकेत आहे.

4. अश्शूरचा राजा त्यांना कैद करील व त्यांच्या देशापासून त्यांना दूर घेऊन जाईल. आबालवृध्दांना वस्त्रे व जोडे काढून नेले जाईल व त्यांना संपूर्ण नग्न केले जाईल. मिसरचें लोक लज्जित होतील.

5. जे कुशकडे मदतीची अपेक्षा करीत होते. त्यांचा अपेक्षाभंग होईल. मिसरच्या वैभवाने लोक आश्चर्यचकीत झाले होते परंतु ते लज्जित होतील.”

6. समुद्रकाठी राहणारे लोक म्हणतील, “त्या देशांवर आम्ही मदतीसाठी विश्वास टाकला, अश्शूरच्या राजापासून रक्षण करण्यासाठी त्यांच्याकडे धाव घेतली पण त्यांचाच पराभव झाला, मग आता आमचा निभाव कसा लागणार?”
