1. યોથામ ગાદીએ આવ્યો ત્યારે તેની ઉંમર 25 વર્ષની હતી અને તેણે યરૂશાલેમમાં 16 વર્ષ રાજ્ય કર્યુ. તેની માતાનું નામ યરૂશા હતું. અને તે સાદોકની પુત્રી હતી.

2. તેના પિતા ઉઝિઝયાએ જે સઘળું કર્યુ હતું તે પ્રમાણે તેણે યહોવાની ષ્ટિમાં જે સારું હતું તે કર્યુ; પરંતુ યહોવાના મંદિરમાં તે જતો નહિ; પણ લોકોએ ષ્ટ કાર્યો કરવાનું ચાલુ રાખ્યું.

3. તેણે યહોવાના મંદિરનો ઉપલો દરવાજો બંધાવ્યો અને ઓફેલના કોટનું ઘણું બાંધકામ કરાવ્યું.

4. તેણે યહૂદાના પહાડી પ્રદેશમાં નગરો બંધાવ્યાં અને જંગલોમાં કિલ્લાઓ અને બુરજો ચણાવ્યાઁ.

5. તેણે આમ્મોનીઓના રાજા સાથે યુદ્ધ કરી તેને હરાવ્યો, અને તે વરસે આમ્મોનીઓએ તેને 3,400 કિલો ચાંદી, 10,000 માપ ઘઉં, તથા 10,000 માપ જવ સતત ત્રણ વર્ષ સુધી તેને આપતાં રહ્યાં.

6. યોથામ પોતાના બધા નિર્ણયો દેવના માગોર્ને અનુસરીને લેતો હતો. તેથી તે ઘણો બળવાન બનવા પામ્યો.

7. યોથામના રાજ્યના બીજા બનાવોની, તેના બધા યુદ્ધોની અને તેના રાજ્યવહીવટની નોંધ ઇસ્રાએલ અને યહૂદાના રાજાઓના વૃત્તાંતમાં લેવામાં આવેલી છે.

8. તે જ્યારે ગાદીએ આવ્યો ત્યારે તેની ઉંમર 25 વર્ષની હતી અને તેણે યરૂશાલેમમાં 16 વર્ષ શાસન કર્યુ.

9. ત્યારપછી તે પિતૃલોકને પામ્યો અને તેને દાઉદનગરમાં દફનાવવામાં આવ્યો. તેના પછી તેનો પુત્ર આહાઝ ગાદીએ આવ્યો.
