অধ্যায় 27

1. পঁচিশ বছর বয়সে রাজা হয়ে য়োথম মোট 16 বছর জেরুশালেমে রাজত্ব করেছিলেন| তাঁর মাতা য়িরূশা ছিলেন সাদোকের কন্যা|

2. য়োথম প্রভুর অভিপ্রায় অনুসারে তাঁর পিতা উষিযর মতোই ঈশ্বরকে অনুসরণ করতেন| কিন্তু তিনি কখনও তাঁর পিতা উষিযর মতো প্রভুর মন্দিরে ঢুকে ধুপধূনো দেবার দুঃসাহস প্রকাশ করেন নি| কিন্তু তা সত্ত্বেও লোকেরা পাপাচরণ করে যেতে লাগলো|

3. য়োথম প্রভুর মন্দিরের উত্তর দরজাটি পুনর্নিমাণ করা ছাড়াও ওফলের প্রাচীরের ওপর অনেক কিছু স্থাপন করেন এবং

4. যিহূদার পার্বত্য অঞ্চলে বেশ কিছু শহর স্থাপন করেছিলেন| এছাড়াও তিনি জঙ্গলে দুর্গ ও নজরদারির জন্য স্তম্ভ বানান|

5. অম্মোনীয়দের সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ করে তিনি যুদ্ধে অম্মোন-রাজকে পরাজিত করেন যার ফলস্বরূপ তিন বছর ধরে একটানা প্রত্যেক বছর অম্মোনীয়রা তাঁকে33,4 টন রূপো, প্রায 62,000 বুশেল গম ও যব নজরানা দিত|

6. প্রভু তাঁর ঈশ্বরকে অনুসরণ করে য়োথম শক্তিশালী হয়ে উঠেছিলেন|

7. তিনি আর যা কিছু করেছিলেন সেসব ও তাঁর যুদ্ধের ব্বিরণী ‘ইস্রাযেল ও যিহূদার রাজাদের ইতিহাস’ গ্রন্থে লিপিবদ্ধ আছে|

8. পঁচিশ বছর বয়সে রাজা হয়ে 16 বছর জেরুশালেম শাসন করার পর তাঁর মৃত্যু হলে

9. তাঁকে তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষদের সঙ্গে দায়ূদ নগরীতে সমাধিস্থ করা হল| এরপর য়োথমের জায়গায় রাজা হলেন তাঁরই পুত্র আহস|
