فصل 20

1. در سالی‌ كه‌ تَرْتان‌ به‌ اَشْدُود آمد هنگامی‌ كه‌ سرجون‌ پادشاه‌ آشور او را فرستاد، پس‌ با اَشْدُود جنگ‌ كرده‌، آن‌ را گرفت‌.

2. در آن‌ وقت‌ خداوند به‌ واسطه‌ اشعیا ابن‌ آموص‌ تكلّم‌ نموده‌، گفت‌: «برو و پلاس‌ را از كمر خود بگشا و نعلین‌ را از پای‌ خود بیرون‌ كن‌.» و او چنین‌ كرده‌، عریان‌ و پا برهنه‌ راه‌ می‌رفت‌.

3. و خداوند گفت‌: «چنانكه‌ بنده‌ من‌ اشعیا سه‌ سال‌ عریان‌ و پا برهنه‌ راه‌ رفته‌ است‌ تا آیتی‌ و علامتی‌ دربارۀ مصر و كوش‌ باشد،

4. بهمان‌ طور پادشاه‌ آشور اسیران‌ مصر و جلاء وطنان‌ كوش‌ را از جوانان‌ وپیران‌ عریان‌ و پابرهنه‌ و مكشوف‌ سرین‌ خواهد برد تا رسوایی‌ مصر باشد.

5. و ایشان‌ به‌ سبب‌ كوش‌ كه‌ ملجای‌ ایشان‌ است‌ و مصر كه‌ فخر ایشان‌ باشد مضطرب‌ و خجل‌ خواهند شد.

6. و ساكنان‌ این‌ ساحل‌ در آن‌ روز خواهند گفت‌: اینك‌ ملجای‌ ما كه‌ برای‌ اعانت‌ به‌ آن‌ فرار كردیم‌ تا از دست‌ پادشاه‌ آشور نجات‌ یابیم‌ چنین‌ شده‌ است‌، پس‌ ما چگونه‌ نجات‌ خواهیم‌ یافت‌؟»
