1. Da tok Bildad fra Suah til orde og sa:

2. Hos ham er herskermakt og redsel; han skaper fred i sine høie himler.

3. Er det tall på hans skarer? Og hvem overstråles ikke av hans lys?

4. Hvorledes skulde da et menneske være rettferdig for Gud eller en som er født av en kvinne, være ren?

5. Selv månen skinner ikke klart, og stjernene er ikke rene i hans øine,

6. hvor meget mindre da mennesket, den makk, menneskebarnet, det kryp som det er.
