യെശയ്യാ 20

1. അശ്ശൂർരാജാവായ സര്ഗ്ഗോന്റെ കല്പനപ്രകാരം തർത്താൻ അശ്ദോദിലേക്കു ചെന്നു അശ്ദോദിനോടു യുദ്ധംചെയ്തു അതിനെ പിടിച്ച ആണ്ടിൽ,

2. ആ കാലത്തു തന്നേ, യഹോവ ആമോസിന്റെ മകനായ യെശയ്യാവോടു: നീ ചെന്നു നിന്റെ അരയിൽനിന്നു രട്ടുശീല അഴിച്ചുവെച്ചു കാലിൽനിന്നു ചെരിപ്പും ഊരിക്കളക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു; അവൻ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തു നഗ്നനായും ചെരിപ്പിടാതെയും നടന്നു.

3. പിന്നെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു; എന്റെ ദാസനായ യെശയ്യാവു മിസ്രയീമിന്നും കൂശിന്നും അടയാളവും അത്ഭുതവും ആയിട്ടു മൂന്നു സംവത്സരം നഗ്നനായും ചെരിപ്പിടാതെയും നടന്നതുപോലെ,

4. അശ്ശൂർരാജാവു മിസ്രയീമിൽനിന്നുള്ള ബദ്ധന്മാരെയും കൂശിൽനിന്നുള്ള പ്രവാസികളെയും ആബാലവൃദ്ധം മിസ്രയീമിന്റെ ലജ്ജെക്കായിട്ടു നഗ്നന്മാരും ചെരിപ്പിടാത്തവരും ആസനം മറെക്കാത്തവരും ആയി പിടിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോകും.

5. അങ്ങനെ അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ പ്രത്യാശയായിരുന്ന കൂശും തങ്ങളുടെ പുകഴ്ചയായിരുന്ന മിസ്രയീമുംനിമിത്തം ഭ്രമിച്ചു ലജ്ജിക്കും.

6. ഈ കടൽക്കരയിലെ നിവാസികൾ അന്നു: അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ നിന്നു വിടുവിക്കപ്പെടുവാൻ സഹായത്തിന്നായി നാം ഓടിച്ചെന്നിരുന്ന നമ്മുടെ പ്രത്യാശ ഇങ്ങനെ ആയല്ലോ; ഇനി നാം എങ്ങനെ രക്ഷപ്പെടും എന്നു പറയും.
