章 11
1. エッサイの株から一つの芽が出、その根から一つの若枝が生えて実を結び、
2. その上に主の霊がとどまる。これは知恵と悟りの霊、深慮と才能の霊、主を知る知識と主を恐れる霊である。
3. 彼は主を恐れることを楽しみとし、その目の見るところによって、さばきをなさず、その耳の聞くところによって、定めをなさず、
4. 正義をもって貧しい者をさばき、公平をもって国のうちの／柔和な者のために定めをなし、その口のむちをもって国を撃ち、そのくちびるの息をもって悪しき者を殺す。
5. 正義はその腰の帯となり、忠信はその身の帯となる。
6. おおかみは小羊と共にやどり、ひょうは子やぎと共に伏し、子牛、若じし、肥えたる家畜は共にいて、小さいわらべに導かれ、
7. 雌牛と熊とは食い物を共にし、牛の子と熊の子と共に伏し、ししは牛のようにわらを食い、
8. 乳のみ子は毒蛇のほらに戯れ、乳離れの子は手をまむしの穴に入れる。
9. 彼らはわが聖なる山のどこにおいても、そこなうことなく、やぶることがない。水が海をおおっているように、主を知る知識が地に満ちるからである。
10. その日、エッサイの根が立って、もろもろの民の旗となり、もろもろの国びとはこれに尋ね求め、その置かれる所に栄光がある。
11. その日、主は再び手を伸べて、その民の残れる者をアッスリヤ、エジプト、パテロス、エチオピヤ、エラム、シナル、ハマテおよび海沿いの国々からあがなわれる。
12. 主は国々のために旗をあげて、イスラエルの追いやられた者を集め、ユダの散らされた者を地の四方から集められる。
13. エフライムのねたみはうせ、ユダを悩ます者は断たれ、エフライムはユダをねたまず、ユダはエフライムを悩ますことはない。
14. しかし彼らは西の方ペリシテびとの肩に／襲いかかり、相共に東の民をかすめ、その手をエドムおよびモアブに伸べ、アンモンの人々をおのれに従わせる。
15. 主はエジプトの海の舌をからし、川の上に手を振って熱い風を吹かせ、その川を打って七つの川となし、くつをぬらさないで渡らせられる。
16. その民の残れる者のために／アッスリヤからの大路があり、昔イスラエルがエジプトの国から／上ってきた時にあったようになる。
